FEEDING & SPIRITUAL VALUES

We want to serve one another in many different ways. Some are ready to serve in times of calamity or emergency. They put aside their usual duties and go out their way to help families whose house has been destroyed by a typhoon, motorists who have been hurt by an accident. Although we are still young, we also find ourselves in similar situations. When one of our friends falls down and gets hurt, some of us are ready to lend a helping hand.

Others are at the service of people by profession. Everyday, they devote their eight hours of work to aid others, in hospitals, restaurants, gasoline stations and schools. We young people have similar service to render service. Some of us spend the weekend in church, helping organize activities for our fellows. Others are involved in groups that go to the poorer areas of our neighborhood.

In line with the Adopt a School Project between the Davao Chinese Baptist Church, Bolton Elementary School is their adopted school for now with the project of feeding and spiritual values. I have been involved in giving vitamins and delivering foods for about three weeks now, and it is a wonderful experience. The children are very grateful, and you get the chance to really help people by donating just a small amount of time each week. The laughter and smiles of kids just would remind me that the world is a wonderful place and there is a lot of reasons to smile. Wow! I wholeheartedly recommend this agenda. It is a wonderful church filled with terrific sponsors and members.

Everyone was so warm and wonderful and did an amazing job. It’s an amazing experience to be able to give back to my community and help those in greater need than myself. It’s great to see that this program helps children in the community. It’s also great to have people from all walks of life come together and promote hope. From the young ones to the once young. ;-)

It’s heartwarming to help people not just because they have a need but because the church prays and we do the activity as a respond to God. Not to convert them or hastily preach to them the gospel but in that simple way we can show them how Jesus loves them and as kids grow, that simple assistant can be a portal of Christ and would let them realize how great our God is. It is good to help because people need the Lord. I am looking forward to getting to know some of the other volunteers & becoming more involved by the grace of God with this program in any way that I can help.

"But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish."
-Psalm9:18-

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." -1 John 3:17-18 -
