"KANIBAD" the samal Island adventure

14N Kanibad Adventurers

For a lot of nursing students a simple outing or going somewhere like Samal Island to unwind may be just a dream. The schedule, requirements, projects etc. may hinder them from doing so. However, not for us…..It’s like destiny accomplices us for an exciting, funny, hilarious, wacky and super enjoy escapade. We went to Samal Island for the sheer experience of enjoying with handful of friends, for the camaraderie, to take pictures, commune with nature and simply to get away from the rat race.

We arrived in the Island a little over 6:00 in the afternoon via a small ferryboat. A short jeepney ride took us to Kanibad Island resort, a beach resort in Samal Island. Then, from the point where we step down from the jeepney we hiked going to the resort and the adventure begins…….

I never thought no one of us knew the mazelike trail of the island going to the beach. It was a very dark night when we trudged all over the place hoping to reach to our planned destination. Cell phone and flashlights came in very handy to help us find our way around. We were exactly fourteen people holding out our heavy baggages for the sake of pleasure and fun. My hands were almost jagged carrying an extremely heavy case of soft drink. The others were carrying galloons of water, ice, heavy bags, foods, tent, etc.. It was as if swimming turned to a mountain climbing adventure. Until we decided to look for help, we knocked a house that we’d passed and asked someone to guide us towards our destination. After about one hour of crisscrossing, we finally reach Kanibad resort. When we get there, we immediately took our evening meal, and then assembled our tents.
We enjoyed the night by taking pictures, a lot of talks, a little bit of drinking and of course swimming. By, early evening, I felt that the temperature dropped, making us put on thick clothing and good thing I’ve brought my malong to ward off the cold. We slept for a while and I have waked up in time to see the moon go down in the west and watch the sun begin to illuminate the east. I felt rested.

In the morning, the moment that we’ve all been waiting for has come “It’s swimming time”. I was mesmerized with the beauty of nature, island in the sun surrounded by the deep blue sea. Waves lapping on the shore with the powder white sand… oohhmmm.. what a great experience. We took pictures all over the place, played games, teasing each other, roaming around …. Just all about enjoyment never minding the stress of nursing…

Lastly, just like any other outings there were things seemed to be remarkable:

TOP 5: The mawimar picturial and video making…
TOP 4: Our foods were devoured by askals…
TOP 3: The Sinech itey….. … sino??? funny story Hehehe…
