New 7 Wonders of the World

I have heard that there was a revision made fo the Seven Wonders of the world so, I immediatly searched for it for my curiousity......... Lisbon, Portugal, July 7, 2007 - The world saw the results of the global election that elevated the status of 7 man-made monumental sites as the New Seven Wonders of the World.

From the Seven Ancient Wonders List made by Herodotus and Callimachus of Greek, the election was based from internet votes and telephone/cellphone votes of candidates for the New 7 Wonders. The list of 177 nominees, the candidates was narrowed to 21 sites, including the Great Pyramid of Giza, and later the Pyramids was proclaimed as an honorary delegate, for its status being the only remnant of the Ancient Wonders.

Here is the list of the New 7 Wonders of the World (Credits to Wikipedia)

Harry Potter 5’, $330M in 5 days

I am really a fan of the Harry Potter movies. So, I will make it a point to watch the movie on the premiere day.But to be honest, I have read just 2 books.

So anyway I rushed to the theater this weekend to watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I was with a close friend who had read the book of this sequel. She's like telling stories in advance! (hehehe) I don't know but I find the first a little B-O-R-I-N-G. I know it does explain the story but I think they could have done better by adding a bit of action than just plain story-telling. The only two things that woke me up were these funny lines:

1.) One, was when Harry Potter after kissing the girl described the kiss as "It was wet..." lol...
2.) When Dumbledore disappeared magically with his phoenix, one of the wizards said... "Dumbledore's Got Style". This was really funny

Anyway the visual effects were stunning. I heard that it was good to watch it in iMax. The fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort is priceless... It really pulled off most of the boring parts of the film. My rating would be an 8/10 (if not because of the beautiful fight scene.

Transformers morphs into a blockbuster

The shape-shifting robots of Transformers have taken on a new form: Huge piles of cash.
The sci-fi saga Transformers debuted with $67.6M in ticket sales in its first weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.
That gave it $152.5M since opening with preview screenings Monday night.
If the weekend figures hold when final numbers are released, that would give Transformers the biggest first week revenues ever for a non-sequel, surpassing the $151.6M of Spider-Man (2002).
But factoring in today’s higher ticket prices, Spider-Man drew more people in its first week, about 26.1M, compared to 22.5M for Transformers.
Transformers also took in $93.6M in 23 other countries where it has opened since June 28. (AP)
